Biography

The interplay of colorful light and shadow and the translucency of flowers inspire Jane Kwant to capture nature’s beauty in watercolor.  Maintaining an extensive flower garden gives Jane the opportunity to photograph and paint her garden in many lighting conditions.  With a camera near, she’s always ready to capture a special view or scene that intrigues her.  Looking for  unique beauty in nature, she paints florals and landscapes.

She is an active member of the Santa Clara Art Association, Los Gatos Art Association, and Santa Clara Valley Watercolor Society.  Her paintings have won numerous awards in these organizations and are displayed periodically with them.  

Jane’s art career has developed over the years through self study, workshops and classes with noted artists.  She has studied from several professional artists in the Bay Area, as well as some who are nationally recognized.
